Exclamation Coolant Reservoir?

my last car was 33 years old, I expected to wrench on it. this one is only 8, shouldnt be having so many issues

So the coolant reservoir decided to spring a leak on me. the nipple for the overflow (return?) line cracked, I pulled the hose off and saw that there was a inch or so long metal pipe protruding from the plastic about 1/4", I pushed it back in and wrapped some packing tape tightly around it, kinda like a sticky cellophane, put the hose back on as far as it would allow and tightened the pipe clamp around the cracked (hopefully sealed) part. Seems to be holding for now. I would still like to replace it tho, don't need it failing on me later on.

Would appear this is a common problem. Doh!

Looks like I have my fix

The oil leak was caused by you as I see it, this new problem is a common one and is caused by pressure on the tank line somehow, they do not break on there own. So the guy who owned it before you did something. This is easily fixed with a brass nipple as done by Red Dog.
You buy a car and you buy any problems on it and you may not see them for a while, I guess you got one with one problem at least. When you fix it up it will be just great, so no problem. Right?
