I found the initial email thread with the installers. I sent them the Install Instructions pdf from the forum to give them a better idea of the install.

Here is how they went about it:

Installer: I would recommend the Metra 70-1786 for the wiring harness instead of the schoshe and a line output converter.

Me: Would the Metra 70-1786 get me a little more power and better signal to noise ratio, etc?

Installer: It would give you a cleaner signal as it uses the radios pre amp outputs. It would give you less noise as opposed to the LOC. It is more or less doing the same thing without having an additional piece that could introduce noise.

If Mother Nature cooperates it looks like I'll be able to stop by the installers shop this Wednesday to have them take another look.
