If the engine does not move when you try to use the starter I would say it is the Crankshaft Position sensor (CPS).
And I would unfortunately disagree with that diagnosis.
The CPS is not even a factor until AFTER the engine is turning.
How could it possibly generate any signals if the flywheel is stationary ?
