Sounds to me (not knowing what exact code you are getting, there are several that pertain to the Crank Sensor and they do not all mean the same thing) - I'd say it's the Crank Sensor.

Did you go to Autozone or NAPA and buy some generic off-the-shelf sensor? Or did you order the RIGHT PART?

I have carried one for five years, when mine died, I put the spare in and ordered another. They are not easy to find locally - and this has come up several times before - those generic sensors do not ALWAYS work and they do not always NOT work - you just never know with them.
