Strength and finish depend of the quality of the machine, you do not get that from some cheap hobbyists machine.
My brother is a VERY advanced hobbyist (3D printing is his profession as well). He produces some extremely well finished projects. I may have to talk to him about producing something similar to this if the best dimensions can be nailed down...
