1) Sounds like it stalled and the starter would not engage (crank) - resoldering of the RCM is usually the fix. This is almost CONFIRMED if you get in, turn key to 'on' then to start, if the starter won't engage, let key go back to "on" - does engine fan speed up to warp speed in 30 seconds? If so, the RCM is at fault.
Could not crank it? What does that mean? The starter would not engage at all? Or the started engaged and spun engine over but it didn't start? I THINK It means the starter wouild not engage at all. Fix the RCM or get a new one.

I'm sorry it was the crank shaft sensor. Yeah, this form is awesome it helped me get it out in about 20 minutes. I just thought even offering would at least work for a little while though.

Ok the new crankshaft sensor is installed and still no start. I tried jumping it off after the new sensor was in just in case the battery was low after trying to start it with the old sensor. Any ideas I need to look into now?
If the starter won't engage and spin the engine over, the cam and crank sensors are not the issue and you have wasted a lot of time here.
If the starter IS engaging and the car won't start or won't run right, then suspect:
Crank Sensor
Lousy fuel quality
Cam sensor
Low fuel pressure
Bad MAF/IAT module
Bad Throttle body
