YOu dont need a "mechanic" to sync the FOB to the car.

Get in, close door.
Put key in ignition.
Press lock or unlock twice.
Turn key to "on".
Turn to off, get out of car and press "lock", doors should lock.

There is a slightly modified version of the above where you turn key to on, then turn to off, then do the above.
When I synced mine, I only did what was above and it worked.


WHy going to a car wash (as bad of an idea as that is) would stop the FOBs from working, I have no idea. The SKREEM is behind the instrument cluster, there is no way you got it wet.
