One other thing. IF this is a Roadster:

Does it beep with top down?
Does it beep with top up?

If the answer is NOT yes to both, that is a clue right there. One "no" and one "yes" indicates that you have a top problem, and the in one case, the system is fine, but in the other case, the cycle apparently did not complete.
