Don't get me wrong I love my car every week my wife and I take at least a 250 mile drive. But I constantly worry what I'll do if I'm 300 miles from home and it won't start. I do have an extra skreem. I don't use the fob, I removed the remote relay so that the system doesn't get spiked when you hit the unlock button on the fob. I put in the extra ground strap. and I inspect all my grounds every 90 days. I'm an old time motorcycle rider and have traveled everywhere from the West Coast to New Orleans and I bought this car to repeat this trips with my wife but it's just too big a role of the dice to get farther away from home than you have it towed in.
These cars are actually very reliable. If you have a SKREEM with you I certainly hope it has been programed for your car. Many of us carry a Crankshaft Position Sensor and also a Relay Control Module in the glove compartment or trunk. The CPS is a bit difficult to replace, but can be done alongside the road once the car has cooled down; The RCM is very easy to install and can be done in less than ten minutes. Other than the common flat tire, bad starter or alternator, like any other car, there isn't much that will let you stranded. I drive mine 1,000s of miles to and from CAA events and have never had a problem. Please put your mined at easy and enjoy your car, just keep a fully charged battery. I believe most electrical problems are caused by battery drain. As the voltage falls off the modules in the car suffer, and batteries DO NOT last as long as they did just a few years back. It wasn't long ago and you could purchase five and six year batteries. Now most are three and you have to search to find a 48 month battery. Like many things, the manufactures are building in obsolescent, but then again the newer cars with all that stuff that drains electricity is making it much harder on the battery.
