SKREEM question
Mercedes abandoned the car when they dumped Chrysler, they have no moral obligation to support the car.
Chrysler Fiat is not the company that built the car in the first place so we are in limbo.
Unfixable SKREEMs to me suffer from a component failure, replace the failed component and they would be fixable. Finding the faulty part being the hard part.

So I have a question for those more knowledgeable. DId the 1999-2004 SLK320s have a SKREEM module? Or was this a means for M-B to have some leverage over the Chrysler version? Just curious.
I would think MDP or SOS could program these ???

No.
I am saying IF they can't repair the SKREEM we supply, they offer a replacement OEM one and keys.(which are in limited supply)
IF we accept this offer, they programme it to work with our supplied ECU

If you live where there are no emissions tests, remember that you can get the RFID chip from another car's keys, it's SKREEM and ECM - and you are good to go.
Not always a CHEAP way out, but it's a way out.
I still would think that the companies that make "racing ECMs" could produce an ECM that would run an M112 engine and be plug-and-play. Perhaps with a million SLKs on the road, such a thing will happen.
or, maybe not. In any event, this is going to be an issue with all aging cars of the modern age. On the other hand, the outlawing of gasoline-engine cars is not that far off, anyway.
