Good job, Jared.
What the hell are you talking about?

I pulled this engine myself from a 2000 ML55 AMG at Gunner's Auto Wrecking in Lake Stevens. I got it "so cheap" because it is a self service yard and they were running a Christmas Special on engines and transmissions.

The knock sensor being unplugged was nobody's fault except my own. Had you have read the entire thread you would have known that the 2000 ML55 uses a Bosch 2.7 ECU, and I had to change the harness so it would be Bosch 2.8 compatible. I also had to update the throttle body.

This was my fault, no one else's. The connection is so far under the intake, I just couldn't get it plugged in all the way.

On another note, I had no idea when I bought this engine if it was actually going to run properly. I inspected everything I could before I pulled it and came to the assumption that something other than the engine caused this ML to wind up in the wrecking yard.

Go back and reread all 3 of my threads, there is a link at the beginning of this thread that takes you there.

Jared
