So first thing, im not a noob at this whole pc/vehicle diagnostics thing. I have a star das/xentry machine setup for all my MB diagnostics, and have owned it for a few years and have gone thru a few manual updates and "re-activations" as the licenses expire over time. Not fun but a bi yearly ritual.
I also have the GM Tech2 and VXDaig system for my H1, which i haven't tried to see if the Tech2 emulator has the H1 addon.
As well as a Kess 2 ecu programmer all setup on what i call the "diagnostic" lappy.

Heres my question. It looks like the DRB3 emulator is a addon that comes with the wiTech package. and most folks on here have been linking to that obdii365 website. However on the site, the first option ($139) version clearly states "without DRBIII", yet the other option ($359) does say "with DRBIII" which is obviously a massive price difference for just a "software" upgrade. although the dongle does look different.

Can anyone clarify if the cheaper V17.04.27 comes with the DRBIII software, or have sucessfully gotten the DRBIII working with the cheaper style "square" dongle? Ive bought alot of stuff from aliexpress with varying success but they have a boat load of the cheaper square sub 200$ units. some with just CD's and some with just HD's.. obviously their contact seller system leaves alot to be desired.

Im tempted to try my luck with the cheaper V17.04.27 kits ive seen online on the hope that the burnt cd has the DRBIII software on it. Or if a "disk image iso/rip" would magically appear, i would more then willing to seed it for some time so others can get their hands on it as a backup

Reason im tempted to get one now is, ive always wanted to be able to do deep diagnostics on the xfire, and a few weeks ago i guess my neighbour has lusted over my xfire for many years, and he finally bit the bullet and bought himself a xfire. So it makes more sense to add this to my neighborhood diagnostics package.

Edit: " i did some more research, looks like DRBII functionality on the square witech units is hit and miss, and seems to revolve around some hardware revisions dont have the K-line communication hardware inside the dongle. Maybe thats why the obdii365 site shows a different unit for "DRBIII" capable units"
I have an account on mhhauto.com site so im doing more research on this whole thing. Obviously most of the people there are not experimenting on x-fires. It would be nice to have a laid out plan for technical folks so we can grow the userbase of xfire DRBIII users on this site, hardware, instructions, resources, videos etc..

I can confirm if you buy the cheaper product from this page https://www.obdii365.com/wholesale/w...-chrysler.html it will come with all the software you need (bought it a year ago). If you follow the instructions exactly on how to install it then you will have a DRB III emulator for your car.
