Okay I'm just going to go head and throw a new one in. When it was tested at orileys (idk how accurate) the attendant had to set the cold cranking amps and a few more parameters before it ran the test. Good new's I finished the rear shocks it was an absolute breeze I actually had fun doing something for once Removed trunk panel with a puller tool, removed the 17mm top nut with a open wrench and pliers to stop it from spinning, I was alone so I just opted to cut the top of the old shocks with a grinder so I could get them out easier. The shop wasn't lieing for once, they actually were leaking at only 47k miles... Here's the full tutorial https://howtune.com/articles/333-rep...sler-crossfire. I went with monroes and man the ride is night and day now that I know what a new set feels like I'll be doing the fronts tomorrow! Also I spoke to https://needswings.com/ over the phone, found his number in another thread (586-531-1413) he stated the rear carrier bearing he sell's is 100% compatible with my xfire and that it was a common failure, also apparently if the rubber flex on each end of the driveshaft isn't cracked or damaged no need to replace. So I wen't ahead and purchased the carrier bearing, and the complete transmission kit to nip this wicking oil in the bud. All thats left to do at this point is figure out why my ABS won't communicate, fix the heater control valve or replace, replace the ac module, replace a front tie rod end then I'll be able to get inspected. I'm going to leave the drive shaft to a local shop since I don't have a lift, what do you guys think a fair price will be? Apparently they just have to drop the cat back system, remove the old bearing a separate the drive shaft install new one maybe 1hr labor? As far as the transmission I might end up just doing this myself along with the driver side valve cover gasket.
