First, if the car needs an alignment and battery - why would the guy not put those items in and get the car running well so he can get more money for it?
Answer: Because the owner has no idea what the car needs, all he knows is, he doesn't know what to do but sell it.

So the question is - does it run? Does it start? How bad off is it?
Find out and get back to us and we can go from there.
