Wow are you right.
All too many posts here by members who have a stuck oil level sensor (which is a biach to replace) IMO mostly due to a chronic (or one time on a high mileage car) oil level too high condition.

Why all the emphasis on 'filling to the full mark', is beyond me!
I don't get it, either. I put in 8 quarts, install the filter, start the engine and watch my oil pressure gauge to confirm it rises when the engine starts.
I'm done at that point. No checking, no obsessing on how high it is on the stick, I"m done.
