You say you have replaced the electronics, what did you replace? There is a little chip inside that only works on the car it was programmed for, obviously you kept that. Did you use the old circuit board or not?
People tend to damage the printed circuit board or a component on it when prying open the old case. The starting depends only on the little chip inside the case and the key fitting properly.
I suspect you have damaged the board or a component on it if you cannot program the fob.
