You say you have replaced the electronics, what did you replace? There is a little chip inside that only works on the car it was programmed for, obviously you kept that. Did you use the old circuit board or not?
People tend to damage the printed circuit board or a component on it when prying open the old case. The starting depends only on the little chip inside the case and the key fitting properly.
I suspect you have damaged the board or a component on it if you cannot program the fob.
Do you have another fob where everything works when you press the unlock/lock buttons?
Just to cover the basics our fobs take two batteries you stack them (2) 2025 batteries.
Do the locking buttons on the console lock and unlock the doors?
Can you lock the doors drivers and passengers by using the lock on the drivers door by turning the key clock wise?
Any detail you can give will help.
Please let us know what you find.
The internal computer chip was damaged. The bulb was missing and the ground to the battery was broken off. I used the internals of an old Mercedes key but used my lazer cut key and my chip for the crossfire. I get lights on the key fob now but it won't program. The car stars and I can unlock it with the key in the door.
I have never seen the schematics to our key fob. There maybe someone on here that has them. I can not tell you the difference between the two circuits if I don't have the schematics.
In my opinion and what I would do is just buy another key. SOS, Needswings, and Chrysler have new keys. Not cheep! The piece of mind that a good working key would bring me is worth it again in my opinion. https://www.crossfireforum.org/forum...eedswings.html

Reason: additional information

People have had no luck with the door lock function using the internals of a proper Crossfire fob, so your assumption that internals from another model would work seems very unlikely.

I think we are losing the point of the post here. The Mercedes key fob electronics that Sdawson789 is trying to use very possibly is different than the Chrysler key. The frequencies that it transmits for the lock/unlock and panic buttons look to be out of the spectrum that the Crossfire is looking for. My suggestion is that he get a new key from SOS, Needswings, or Chrysler.

I agree but I wondered how you thought two circuits, Mercedes and Chrysler were involved.
The chip is VIN specific and the door open/close board transmits and receives specific codes to operate the CLP/SSM.
So yeah, that is the long and the short of it. Right now no one has keys, there is no queue no matter what anyone tells you. Chrysler has sus-pended all orders until the end of the year. Its listed as a long term supply interruption resulting from material shortages. We'll all keep hanging on until something materializes. Hate to be the bearer of that news.
So just got off the phone with crossfire parts and the company that makes the keys for all crossfires has quit making them. Soooo hold on to your keys until hopefully next year. Maybe we should all pitch in and buy a lazer cutting machine and a programing computer so we can all have keys
Ok ill try to clear this up. The black micro chip is from the original key the electronics that read the buttons pressed are from a mercedes key fob the electronics look identical. My car starts and I can lock and unlock the doors with my key. I just can program my fob to lock and unlock. Electronics from old key fob matches mercedes
The Crossfire Store. SOS Diagnostics, Needswings and some Dealers can still make you a new key if you have the old one. The least expensive right now is the Crossfire Store. They are on sale. Send him a functioning key and he will send you as many new ones as you like.
Josh chase at the Mercedes swap shop had replacement flip key is on sale through the end of July at 30% off. I got a flip key for a little under $200 after shipping cost. If they are truly unavailable then I got mine at just the right time. We should still be able to get transponder valet keys that will start our cars… SOS was charging $65 for them when I checked over the winter. As for the lock and unlock circuit boards, from my research it seems that DK 55 bored cannot be reprogrammed by the user or a locksmith. If you can obtain a virgin board it can be programmed by someone who has the proper equipment and software. I bought a 2007 sprinter K55 three button flip key fob which is identical to the crossfire OK thinking I could program at to lock and unlock the doors and use it as a keychain with a transponder valet key. The programming instructions in the owners manual seem to only work to pair a remote that was already programmed to the vehicle. I have not checked with the Mercedes dealership to see if they could erase or virgin eyes a used remote and reprogram it. It may be possible but the cost probably would have been as much as buying a replacement flip key from the Mercedes swap shop or SOS.
