Win 7 Pro I had running wirelessly, maybe I should persevere with that.
There are a few various description on how to get the DRB Emulator running, which is best I have no idea.
Then we have the soldering modification mentioned, is that necessary I have no idea. I could do that I am sure, I just need a smaller soldering iron, the three that I have are too big.
Please, is Win 7 Pro a good start?
Thanks for the offer of help, I am going to start with a clean slate.

How was the fishing? My friends son caught a ten foot Sturgeon two weeks ago on the Fraser River in BC. My friend was with him when he caught it, my friend managed to catch a six footer. Last week their guide had someone catch a twelve footer. They are a protected species and a valuable resource for the Province.
Hello, The fishing has been very good. I am a volunteer angler with a Coastal Fisheries Research Project at our local University. We sample the fish populations off the Northern California Coast. We brought in about 200 fish on this last two-day trip. All the fish are measured and weighed and some specimens are also tagged before we safely return them to the ocean. I really enjoy participating as a volunteer angler.

As for the DRB III Emulator:
1) The manufacturer told me to use Windows 7 (Home Edition 32 Bit) Or Windows XP.. But my used ebay laptop came with Windows 7 Professional (64 Bit Service Pack 1) which has worked successfully for me. I think you said you have Windows 7 Professional, so that should work fine.
2) Go ahead and leave the internet/wireless connected while you update your Windows 7 Professional software to the newest versions. You will be turning these features off later.
3) At this point your computer should be ready to proceed with the steps, as outlined above by others, to install the Adobe Air, Java, WiTech, DRB III Emulator and DRBIII Enhanced Emulator - In that specific order. I will also be happy to assist over the phone for free, if you want. No problem.

There are also others who have successfully installed this software/hardware for the DRB III Emulator and I'm sure they too are willing to help. Together, we can do this!

John
