No wonder the car is mad at you, I'd be pissed too. Go buy the RIGHT part. German Auto Supply has them, as do other places - search "Mercedes SLK320 Crank Positoin Sensor" and buy ONLY the BOSCH part. If you search for the Crossfire, you will never get the car running.

The P0410 is nothing to worry about, get the car running and deal with that later. As you have been told, you can send the RCM to DJ and he can fix that 410 thing for you for around $60.
You can buy them on eBay for around $75 used that might work, or a new one at PartsGeek for $240 - but what ever you do, send your bad one to DJ for rework and keep it in the trunk for next time.
