Michael, I said at the time these pulleys started to be sold by vendors that they would fail, poor designs that copied features that were in the OEM pulleys but weakened the thinner wall in the newer smaller diameter pulleys. Poor material choice for the pulleys and the so-called spring material and in some early cases a bearing that was too large. Nobody listened to or chose to ignore my comments.
It is noticeable that the number of pulleys offered these days are few and far between.
At the time a chance of a quick buck made the sellers eyes light up.

Even the OEM SC pulley will fail at some point due to constant stress on the springs, no metal can take that constant flexing and last, but probably on average it will outlast the car due to the loss of the cars in accidents.
My suggestion is to go with an OEM pulley. Some failures of these after market pulleys have caused a lot of damage, consider yourself lucky in that respect.
