Since you can talk to the sensor at any time, what I understood to be the way it works is not accurate.
Essentially, the Autel scanner "triggers" the wheel sensor by sending a signal to it when the DRB3 software says it's ready (beep) to receive the sensor's info. So it is essentially performing the same task as the magnet.
