OOPS. ALmost forgot - doing a re-sync often helps, even with a non-operational top. That is, start the engine and put the top up and down or down then up COMPLETELY including the hex bolt action on the underside of the lid.
This way, the PTCM "sees" you run thru the cycle. Never move the top, even manually, without the car running - as this confuses the PTCM.
