Are you SURE you didn't just release the button too early? Yes, it happens.

Now, the LEFT lamp is not where you access the cam, its the RIGHT lamp.

You use the LEFT hole to snag the emergency release cable, which can be easy or can be hard. If you want to try it, grab a steel coat hanger or other STIFF wire. Form a hook in the end, a small one.
Insert the wire with hook and go in about 8-10 inches, rotate the wire and then pull back out on it, try this several times, you will eventually snag the emergency cable - when you do PULL and the trunk will pop open!

Or use the RIGHT hole and an ice pick or screwdriver and move the actuator cam and pop the trunk that way.
