Trunk (Boot in UK) locked.
Trunk (Boot in UK) locked.
Hullo Everyone,
So… my trunk is locked on my UK 2004 Roadster. I went to open the roof but it only opened half way. Did a manual open. When closing it didn’t go all the way, at that point I pushed the back of the lid down…I didn’t realise the boot had locked.
I can’t get access via the plate lights. I’ve tried ignition and button push idea.
I’m stuck!
This is a video to show the situation. Any ideas welcome. Next stage I guess is drill into the trunk!

Re: Trunk (Boot in UK) locked.
You did not complete the cycle, so the trunk/boot is still locked, this is how it was designed to work.
IT is a stupid design. For that reason, we disable the electric trunk lock (not the pneumatic lock, the electric lock).

I’ve read through the link from top to bottom but my basic problem at this point is to get in the trunk. There’s a plate stopping access to the pneumatic area.

Re: Trunk (Boot in UK) locked.
Are you SURE you didn't just release the button too early? Yes, it happens.
Now, the LEFT lamp is not where you access the cam, its the RIGHT lamp.
You use the LEFT hole to snag the emergency release cable, which can be easy or can be hard. If you want to try it, grab a steel coat hanger or other STIFF wire. Form a hook in the end, a small one.
Insert the wire with hook and go in about 8-10 inches, rotate the wire and then pull back out on it, try this several times, you will eventually snag the emergency cable - when you do PULL and the trunk will pop open!
Or use the RIGHT hole and an ice pick or screwdriver and move the actuator cam and pop the trunk that way.

Re: Trunk (Boot in UK) locked.
The button had stopped working so I found you guys on this forum (wish i'd found you before...soo much info!) and after watching the manual roof opening process I did one successfully and was on the second when the trunk locked.
I now strongly believe it's the pump that will be sitting in water, the poor old girl has sat outside unused as of our first lockdown.
After watching the trunk opening video I jumped to the task, only to find the anti-theft plates either side of the latch that stops me manually opening it.
I have a camera probe so will take some video of the situation and as much of the internals as I can find with it and pop it up here...once it stops snowing!
Thank you for your help, I really appreciate it.
