You either used the wrong product to attach the mirror, or you used the wrong technique. You cant flex the frame - you can roll the damn car and that frame will usually stand up to the stress - that is a safety item. And as an aside, if you are slamming the top down that hard, you should know that lowering the top to the frame is a TWO HANDED operation. Slamming the top down like that will cause problems eventually.
