My wife is pretty good with this sort of thing, but she could really only access the area next to the window.
So I decided to remove the top, after doing some research, I found some video's and some recommended "glue" for doing this. This is not my first convertible top issue, just my first Crossfire top issue. I also took care of where the window was starting to separate.
I am very surprised how well it went, but If it happens again, I think I will get a beige one from
these folks. Unless someone knows a better vendor? Has anyone else had this issue, how was it resolved
I have some comments:
1) Your ability to use the forum, create neat links - excellent. I suspect you will be a great addition to the community.
2) The fact you pulled the top off and fixed it and put it back on tells me two things about you:
- You are NUTS. I've never bother with all of that, Id' just replace the damn top
- You are totally capable of doing what few of us ever try to do, and can change the dam top yourself. You WILL be a great addition to the community.
BAS is simply the best out there. My opinion: That top is old and looks crappy, I doubt you can get it to look nice no matter your skills and effort. Get a new top - it's only going to cost you the top, you can do the work yourself. A good set of tires will cost you more and last only a short time, where a new top will probably last over ten years, since I already know that you will take care of it.
WELCOME to the forum. Very happy to have you here. We have members who are good with top replacement, but most are not active on here.
Expect me/us to direct inquiries about DIY top replacement to
YOU.
Be it so recorded....
