Iv'e owned three Roadsters over the last fourteen years, and driven them about 96000 miles in all. Never had a SKREEM problem.
I remain convinced that you can protect the SKREEM and other sensitive modules in the car by cleaning up the power fed to them and not doing stupid things. Consider the following:

Do not run old car batteries. My rule is 4-5 years on a battery.

Keep battery posts/clamps clean and tight. Using one of the colorful "fiber washers" actually does help.*

Put in the redundant ground fix TODAY.**

DO NOT use any of those cheap, stupid "battery cable quick disconnects", they tend to become resistive and go open easily. If you want a battery disconnect switch for when you store the car, buy a REAL battery disconnect.***

DO NOT jump start your Crossfire with another car and do not use your Crossfire to jump start another car - use a booster battery, don't be stupid.

Stay away from cheap battery chargers and avoid ANY charger that can charge the battery from dead to full charge in less than three hours or so. (FAST chargers are high current devices that output higher than safe voltages, the text on the side of the box is marketing baloney, not engineering specifications - again, don't be stupid).

DO NOT put the convertible top up or down without the engine running.

The stupid has to stop. Stop doing stupid things. Iv'e spent 39 years in mobile radio/electronics, I HOPE my reference to "stupid" is offensive, because that way, my words will have an impact - cause if I just say it, people ignore what I say. Get offended and remember what Ive posted - for that day when your SKREEM dies two days after you let Clem jump start your Crossfire with his tow truck. WHen it happens, call James at the MSS and he will get you back on the road.
