I decide to do the smart thing and send my original Relay Control Module out to tighed1 to have it rebuilt.
There was nothing going on with it, but why wait for a known problem to occur? Also the original one doesn't allow you to honk the horn while the key is out.
This seemed like a big safety issue to me. Imagine some jack wagon backing up and you can't honk your horn to warn them! I had a new one to use while my original was being refurbished.
Here are the usual pictures with descriptions. Hopefully they will help people who haven't done this yet.
Why bother to change back to the old RCM? Save the hassle and go with the new one, you may break something by accident. That’s what I did, I put in the spare to see it worked OK, it did so I left it in.
