My apologies. Let's back it up to those photos of the connector. That runs from the central locking pump to the deck lid position switch according to my wiring diagrams. I unfortunately cannot find said switch or don't have it. BRN/BLU wire.
Going back to your original photo, I still believe that wire is for the trunk light.
here is a picture of mine. It seems to be the same connector. I'll take a picture of the actual light in place, the wiring and the connector tomorrow. Maybe it will help.
