Busy Day -

Bled brakes & clutch slave with ATE Typ 200. Surprised how ganky the old fluid got after 3 years. Also forgot how dirty the insides of the wheels get with brake dust.

Changed tranny fluid to Amsoil 5W-30 SynchroMesh and the diff to Amsoil 75-90 Long Life. MB forums suggest the tranny shifting is sensitive to correct fluid level, so I kept it at 1.9 qts, or less with spillage (shrinkage).

Turkey-basted the PS reservoir fluid with Pentosin Syn.

Enjoyed about a hour and a half top down drive this afternoon. A beautiful low humidity July day with no rain, they have been hard to come by around here this July. Ended up at my storage unit where I keep my other toy. Since I am planning on taking that car to a show this weekend I put the Crossfire in the storage unit and drove the other car back to my house. It's a extra good day when I get to drive both cars. I did pass another graphite roadster heading the other way on the main road heading out of Ross Ohio. Gave the guy a wave but failed to get a response.

Did you use a brake bleeder or the 2-man method? After 8 years and 77k miles I know mine could use a flush.

I just gravity bled them starting with the clutch, then all 4 corners of the car. Took my time washing each wheel and changing out the PS, trans & diff fluid in between caliper bleeds while waiting for gravity to take it's course.

If your car is at 77K with the orig fluid, it may be time to start thinking about replacing it. You'll be surprised how filthy the old fluid is.

Installed an Ebay China prop rod, and a blower motor resistor, but it didn't help the fan speed, I think the **** may be bad, is it even repairable? I'm thinking not.

Flushed the coolant in the srt6 and replaced with the correct Mopar stuff. That should complete all of the fluid renewals in the car, except brake fluid, now at 132,000mi. The rear bearing noise continues to subside to the point where its almost un noticeable unless I am losing my hearing. Didn't worry about the coolant disposal because my mechanic needed it for his leaking chevy van. It still had a greasy feel to it...........05 Roadster, ..we changed out the steering stabilizer, but while we had it up, we noticed an eighth to a quarter inch of play left to right that seemed to be in the steering gear box. That will explain the drifting/floating feeling I am getting. 40,000miles on it and under warranty. More later...Peace 'yall.

anybody know what this does? I was planning to do the piezo buzzer fix today to get a 'chirp' when I lock my XF. when I opened my fuse box I found this...a wire going from fuse #25 to fuse #35??? What would happen if I removed the wire?

I'll just post this for now until I figure how to upload a photo...sorry

Default Silver windshield trim now black

My silver windshield trim was real faded and scratched up, I didn't really like the wide contrast of the silver to the black car so I painted it black, looks better to me, but spray can gloss needs buffed to match the clear coat a bit better.

I'm taking each wheel off and cleaning the grime off. It's only been a month since I've done it and it already has that grungy brown color again. Might attempt to take my dash apart and fix my ignition jerry rig since I have two days off but we'll see about that. Will most likely take a look at the RCM and inspect my solders since I have yet to do that since I got it. Needs a little bit of cleaning on the interior. Just a TLC day at my house. Have a good day guys.

Well, as I was typing that ^^^
Full Metal Jacket got delivered from Amazon. So after the wheels, I may be retiring inside early to remind myself that I'm lucky to be enlisting in the military in 2015, rather than the good ole days. Dang I love that movie.

Took my Daytona back to the storage unit and brought the XF back to the house. Since it is taco Thursday I stopped at Taco Bell for some lunch. Explored a couple new roads on the way back to the house and almost had a run in with a young deer, slowed down after that. Once I got home I touched up some curb rash on the wheels with a small bottle of Crossfire Wheel Paint that I purchased off ebay. It actually does match pretty well. I suspect the previous owner never passed a curb he could not resist because all four wheels have at least one spot on them.
