What did you do to your Crossfire today?
Re: What did you do to your Crossfire today?
Finished up the exterior detailing job on the Crossfire this morning. Used the clay bar on the front end & applied the Zymol Cleaner/Wax. Recovered the car as more rain is expected today with chance of a T-storm. That time of year.
Upholstery shop called yesterday and said the headliner was ready to be picked up. Headed that way shortly to get it and then, hopefully, find a time that I can get it re-installed before I head out for China on Friday, June 9th.

Yeah - with the rapid growth of the automotive market in China the past few years, there are probably an abundant number of unlicensed drivers running amok over there. I know that the pedestrian is "low man on the totem pole" so crossing a street can be hazardous to one's health. Fortunately, this trip is a work assignment and keeping that at the forefront of my mind should keep me out of trouble.

Re-installed headliner this afternoon. For the most part, things went fairly well. Much easier inserting headliner into car than taking it out. Been There; Done That. Had some issues getting the headliner re-attached at the rear. The old "push-pin" fasteners I kept and needed to re-collapse them so I could secure the 2 rear headliner tabs. Trick: After pulling the push-pin out on the old trim fasteners, I took a Bic lighter and heated the ends of the pin. Then I could squeeze the ends back together to re-insert the fasteners thru the headliner & into the mounting hole. Then I just pushed the "push-pin" back into the fastener to secure the headliner. Slick!
Everything else went together somewhat easy from there. Had some difficulty getting the rear trim re-installed. Found 1 pin broke on DS about halfway back & had to replace it. Headliner looks good! Car is nearly ready for trek to Eureka Springs. Used the Shop-Vac one more time on the Crossfire snatching up any small pieces of the old glue from the headliner. Used some Vinyl cleaner on all the trim pieces that were handled during headliner task. Re-installed the Car Cover on the car & final cleaning will happen when I get back from China on the 22nd.

Frustrating day. Tried to change the headlight bulb. Old bulb broke off in to the housing. Still in there.
Tried to hook up my home link to my newer garage doors with a compatibility bridge. I mistaken have both my two garage door hooked up to the same button. I'll need to teach my doors again to fix this. Argggh.

If you cant get the bulb out do not try the oven bake trick to open the lights, they melt ! Trust me,
I had to buy a complete headlamp after that farce.
some people saw/cut them open to put halos in i believe.

Today i put in a new V3 Sprint Booster ,
Sport 6 mode is very nicely sensitive and the car does Feel quicker ( yes i know) ,
i have not tried any of the 9 "race" modes yet but its sure to be exciting ...
The new valet modes could be useful and the peddle lock feature is a great idea.
AU$300 delivered is good too.

I must have or have at least looked at every aftermarket bit o fluff for the xf made and i have never seen such a thing.
are you sure you are not thinking of the roll bars that came on the SLK ? they are chrome and they fit the xf too apparently but they dont 'slip around' they replace the xf roll bars.
search ebay germany ,they were about $250 used iirc.
