~ These restorations were on the Aero Blu Roadster...not an SRT but, I am not sure of the differences of the Limited or the NA, or the base even so maybe you can tell by the pics that were posted in the Aero Blue thread or the now closed "old" for sale thread. There are pics of the car there.
Gave my new to me 2004 Coupe a quick wash and fun drive around town. Tint from the previous owner is a bit dark for my taste, though I may just keep it. I changed the oil to Mobil 1 0W-40, OEM Mann filter, fixed the cracked airbox (make sure to check yours), replaced the air filters, cabin air filter, installed a cell phone magnetic holder and a few other minor things.
Original owner put on a set of staggered SLK 320 wheels, they do have center caps from wheel brand "Sport Edition", he just didn't want the Mercedes emblems on them and the Chrysler ones don't fit. I will have some new Yokohama Advan tires go on soon along with an alignment, manual tranny & diff fluid change also on the horizon. Car has about 97,000 miles and 17 years old, but still feels fresh and a looker, really loving this car! What surprised me is how much smaller this car is than I expected. I always thought it was a bit bigger, but it was actually 3/4 of the size I expected. Luckily it is a limited with the adjustable seats or my fatso 6' 2" frame wouldn't fit so well.

Finally got off my lazy butt and polished my NASTY headlights. These were installed new in mid 2008 by the dealer under warranty on my 05 Base. Surprised me how quickly they went downhill as car was garage kept and not a daily driver,
I basically just wet sanded using Mirka Abralom foam backed pads going from 360 to 500 to 1000 to 2000 then last with 4000 grit. Not perfect but totally better then they were. I topped the job off with Meiers clear plastic polish.
Question. My interior door locks cycle between unlocking themselves when car is shutoff and key removed and staying locked at other times. Is there any programming involved?
Installed LED fog light bulbs and swapped in a different factory amplifier to see if it solves my problem of the sound cutting out when speed sensitive volume control kicks in. Haven’t tested it yet. Also recently got the recovered headliner reinstalled and replaced the fuel pump which solved how are hard starting when warm issue.
Replaced blower motor resistor with OEM unit from FCP euro. It did not fix the problem so next steps will be to have controls and blower motor tested. Fan barely blows at all on the highest setting and seems to be off at anything less than that.

With help from another member here we changed out my OEM rear base speakers with new ones
It takes a bit of time and some modifications to the baskets the speakers fit into

Im about to install these this week. I know the basket has to have a part Dremeled out but what/where was the wood used for? I’ve heard some people lust leave the baskets out and just attach the sub without it. I plan on modifying the baskets was just curious about the wood “frame”. Also I have a question on what is the consensus on the door speakers as far as, is repairing them a long term solution “mine have been blown since ownership so I don’t know if they sound good in the first place” or to try and find a set of 2ohm speakers that don’t break the bank? I’ve looked for the Infinity speakers that have been posted before but most are sold out or they want twice what they were originally. Thanks in advance for any info

There’s some good info in this thread if by chance you haven’t read through it yet.
Sussudio, I believe he is talking about the fan speed, not 'too hot'. The post you referenced doesn't seem to address the fan speed problem he is having.

The thin wood ring was to be able to set the speaker flush in the basket
We were unable to dremel out the areas the speaker wouldn't clear in the basket because it was right where the screws needed to go to hold the speakers in the baskets
We used 1/2 inch plywood but I suggest only using 1/4 inch plywood if it works
The 1/2 inch plywood set the speaker up just high enough that when installing the speakers/baskets back into the bulkhead wall they were against the gas tank
Also note: The OEM speakers are not marked with + and - on the connections but the wider connectors are the + (Positive)
Red and Gray wires are + (Positive) Green and Black wires are - (Negative)

Even the best eventually die. I had to order a replacement for the Intimidator AGM battery today, 6+ years and it shows good voltage, but has no amps.
Scored an AC Delco AGM for $175 from Amazon :
NOTE ! Get you one of these for emergencies like this :
