An expensive week on the car:
New battery $200.00 (AMG)
Road force balance $100.00 (finding a screw in one of the new tires and ...... a bent rim )

Well i went down a rabbit hole today. I have a cylinder 6 misfire and some of my vacuum lines were shot. So i thought i could just change them out real quick. Then i had to pull my intake to replace the one on the bottom of the intake. Discovered my intake gasket was leaking on cylinder 6. Ordered the gasket went ahead and ordered plugs and wires.

On Jan. 10th, I decided to do some preventative maintenance on the guy behind the wheel.

The rigamarole of getting a referral, seeing the specialist, and testing....led to yesterdays diagnosis that I have “extremely severe” sleep apnea.
*The sleep data showed I exhibited no breathing spells for up to 62 sec.
*64 events an hour with pauses and reduction of air flow
*90 minutes of O2 levels at 64% (avg. is 90 sleeping)

this leads to heart conditions of arrythmia, high blood pressure, stroke, Excessive adrenaline flow. Diabetes. kidneys producing more red blood cells while the kidneys stimulation causes a sense of needing tp urinate more often.

I will be fitted with a mask and machine appropriate to me next Thursday.

At 76, I was completely caught off guard. I had a few of the symptoms but never expected this. I wonder what percentage of deaths can be attributed to this?

I urge you to look into this and just be aware.

Sorry to hear Joe, all the best to you and yours for a manageable recovery. Listen to your specialists, get a second opinion, and if/when both agree do some in-depth research for yourself. Good luck!

Did some maintenance yesterday. Rotated fronts (L-R, R-L) and rears (again L-R,R-L). While off the car cleaned inside rims, inspected suspension/brakes/stabilizer mounts (both rear sides). Totally surprised the F & R brake pads, doesn't look like any wear! All good, updated logbook!

Feeling all the aches today, especially when the RF wheel/tire rotated while setting it to the hub (right middle got between caliper and wheel spoke and wrenched the finger knuckle. OUCH!). Used a few muscles that weren't used lately..... Thank GAWD for tylenol...

Glad it's not just me, but then I am ten years older. I have to work slower and smarter.

Is M14x1.5 thread the right one for the Crossfire?

I hoard my pain meds and fill every 'refill' whether I need it or not. It takes away some of the worry of my increasing 'oldness' for doing chores around the house. Just the peace of mind knowing you have it if you need it psychologically helps.

I have one bought off fleabay, it was at 12 o'clock, the pin was in the hub at noon, and through the rim, as I was lifting/sliding the wheel to the hub, it (gravity and a bump/wiggle to seat the hub) shifted to the right and clocked around. Finger was where it shouldn't have been in relation to the caliper and wheel spoke... Lesson learned (but probably to be forgotten on next rotation).

I thought it had been a couple years but did them before checking the log book. Next time I'll read the log and not rotate sooner than about every 3-6K.

Thanks for the tool lead. I am in Canada, if ordered from U.S. would have been over $60. Ordered on Amazon.ca @16.99 all in. Similar but not the same product, good reviews. Not a hi volume use tool, but handy when you need it. I'm in my 70's as well with ever increasing arthritis. Everything helps to make life better. Stay Safe.

Actually: (over the past few weeks); changed oil & filter (due to time elapsed, "garage queen" past few years); Tech @ my work installed new tpms, & another tech "relearned" our car to them, (2nd replacement set since new, '05 Roadster).

I may be a bit confused, but I was under the impression that you can't just rotate a radial tire. Because of the rotation direction, you would have to unmount and remount the tire to move to wear pattern to the "now outside". Please tell me if I'm not correct in that the geometry of moving one wheel to the opposite side of a car doesn't change the "direction" of travel for the tread.

They do indeed have directional tires and have a arrow showing direction but most are not and can be rotated check with the manufacturer.

There are both, mine are the ones that can go in both directions. There is no arrow or indicator for one direction (unidirectional, see: https://itstillruns.com/unidirection...s-5028593.html ). My other two vehicles have same size rims on all 4, and no 'one direction' tires on them either. IF you have the ones that are unidirectional (one direction only) then you can only go front to back on the same side IF you have changed the wheels (rims) to the same size. My 'wheels' are stock 18" F & 19" R, so mine go L-R, R-L (front) and L-R, R-L (rear) only.
