general maintenance, gaskets, thermostat, tensioner, HD Belt….
rebuilt Supercharger (and spare)
thanks to Rob at Needswings, Chris LM21, 180 and Blue Coupe. I appreciate the knowledge that you shared. It made the process a lot easier.

I’d like to get a nice st of standard valve covers
clean em up an powder coat or anodize
I have a complete working spoiler to trade for equally good valve covers. Spoiler is alabaster. White 😎

This morning re-fitted the Headliner, with Blue cross stitched quilted fabric (to match my Aero Blue Crossfire).
Plus while I had the Pillar trims off, wrapped them in Suede.

F4celess - Headliner restore in Blue padded cross stitch, to match my Aero Blue crossfire. Plus suede pillars.

The girl at the McDonald's drive-through today asked me, "Is that a Crossfire?"
I said, "How'd you know that? Nobody ever knows what this is."
Her answer was only, "That's the car you can put the spoiler up on, right?"
I said, "If you want to. But the car puts it up automatically."
Anyway, I ended up telling her "Way to go!"
She was quite taken with the car.

I also decided to use the remainder of an extra-large can of A/C Pro (or whatever brand) to top-up my A/C, for as far as I know it's never been recharged. That was a few days ago and I think it blows a little cooler although all I did was move the pressure-dial from one spot in the "OK" range to another spot a little higher in the "OK" range. I have to do other stuff in the garage so I'll take a picture of the bottle before it ends up in the garbage.

Here's our low-pressure port (and no, it wasn't A/C PRO!)

But with this brand you can can screw the gauge off the bottle...

Keep it and you'll be able to check your low-side pressure even if you don't have an A/C gauge set.

Sitting in the CVS drive-through today I had to shut off the A/C it was so cold even on the lowest fan setting. And no, unless I'm defrosting I'm not much for using the temperature rheostat. If I can't moderate the A/C temp using the fan setting I just turn it off. I also think my A/C gets cold faster now. And with that the R134a I bought to charge my RAM pickup 4 or 5 years ago does me one final good deed!

Well I finished today after most of the week.
Proly the most detailing I've ever done on one of my cars.
Wash, clay bar, compound, polish, polish, polish the hood, again and again.
Wax on wax off. She looks great but the hood has taken a lot of abuse by the POs and us.
Short of a hood repaint I'm considering a wet sand next but good for now.
Drive on!

A month ago I couldn’t get my gas cap back on after a fill up and after fiddling for 30 seconds it seated correctly (although I don’t know why). Next fill up it happened again. Yesterday it just wouldn’t seat so I drove home with the filler door open about 2 inches.

Looking at the filler cap in my hand, I saw a spring but couldn’t get it to compress. Saw white nylon housing that seemed secure and unmovable in a depression on opposite sides. See photo.

I got some 3 in 1 oil and gave a couple of drops to each incline and put back in filler neck while pushing down with large pliers and turning clockwise. After 3 times, it closes effortlessly.

Might be a good Preventative Maintenance item to add to your list.

Here's a story to make you feel better about YOUR OWN life...

When was the last time that you had a spate of things go COMICALLY WRONG??? Wrong on a level that it seemed like the intentional intervention of an almighty being (having his jollies with a mortal) might be the explanation?

It all started LATE THIS AFTERNOON, just before 4PM. My home's main A/C unit, the one capable of keeping the entire house cool, stopped working. The "safety plug" (the type with a 'RESET' button like on a hair-dryer) shorted out to the point that it slightly melted and left a burn mark against the wall plug. It didn't trip a breaker in the house wiring but I can't reset the "safety-plug" and I'm not effing with it today as that unit faces the setting Sun and it's just too hot in that part of the house now. I have smaller A/C units in 2 of my 3 bedrooms so at least that part of the house will stay cool.
In any case, I stuck to my plan of doing the weekly grocery shopping so I took a shower and went down to start the car. No keys. Hmm. I grabbed my backup keys and then discovered the main keys in the ignition... which was left ON! The battery was completely dead since it's been left with the ignition on since Friday when I cleaned the door cards and the windows. Putting the windows up & down to either Windex them or have them avoid the Sun-protectant I applied to the door-cards is why the keys got left in the ignition. I know; MY FAULT.
Hooking my jump-starter to the car's battery it signalled a connection-fault as the battery is so drained it could not verify that I'd got POS-to-POS, NEG-to-NEG and so signalled an error. Modern technology so smart that it's dumb. So right now I've got my old motorcycle battery charger, one that belonged to my dad which is thankfully so old it's completely stupid and was (no kidding) probably made when I was a teenager, on the job. I didn't read the writing on it but I'm guessing it's around 1.5amps. IT IS slowly charging the battery though, so I've that on my side!
I have only potatoes, gravy, and 2 or 3 chocolate-chip muffins in the house. Really. That's it! Why do you think I was going grocery shopping?!! My plans for a dinner of Argentine Red shrimp are now only a sad memory and if I end the night with a Mickey D's triple cheeseburger and a large sweet tea I'll consider that a win!

So, do you feel better about YOUR life?
