Took out the 06 coupe after its winter storage & found I had little to no brakes -- bled all 4 & now have a good pedal .
Also took care of a slight "pulling to the right" issue which was there upon purchase last fall by adding a bit of toe-in to the right front . All is well now .

AMAZON pandemic LIFE-HACK

I shook my brake pressure bleeder out of their system and got it delivered 2 weeks earlier by just ordering a food item. They didn't want to make 2 runs out to my house so they delivered them together yesterday. Something to keep in mind if you want your non-essential items delivered before Hell freezes over.

Uncovered the blue coupe today, went over it with some detailer and my wife and I headed to the mountains on a 225 mile road trip. The car has been stuck on 30,xxx miles for three years, this trip put it past 31k. I had forgotten about the SRT lurch at cruise, like a sudden extra shot of fuel. My black SRT doesn’t do it, I thought they all did. Great ride.

Did the "Passenger-seat Pickup-Truck" trick today. I should have taken a picture but I was in a rush. I bought one of those portable home air conditioners that ducts the hot air out a window. I sat it in the passenger seat but had to put the top down first and leave it down because it stood about a foot proud of the windshield-scuttle. I have a pickup at home I just fixed but would have had to drive home and come back. Itty-bitty car; unlimited head-room!

BTW if you check online to make sure something is in stock at your local Walmart before going you almost needn't bother. They said since COVID-19 it's gotten all out of whack. I had actually picked out a window-unit A/C which online showed "available for pickup" but which they had none of.

virus or not , the Walmart site qty verses what may actually in stock has always been "take your chance" or get lucky & contact the store dept & ask .

I had to replace a tail-light/stop-light-bulb on my Roadster. Took the advice of others (ala_xfire ?) and used the "easy access" method. Lots of long reaching but quick & easy. The forum saves the day!

Ordering a food item worked again. I had 3 non-essential items due to be delivered from May 7 to May 21. Ordered a food item and when it shipped they bundled everything into a single shipment. It's all arriving this Wednesday now!!!

What would make this a Great story is to hear that you received the parts you needed within a few days and that you decided to donate the food items you ordered to get it. It appears as though the part was needed and the food items were only required to get it quickly

Your clever Covid life hack would benefit two people. That’s a real life win

Uncovered the garage queen SSB roadster and drove it 30 miles or so with the top down. Ran the A/C for a while to lubricate its innards, observed 43,700 on the odometer now. Vacuumed it, excercized the convertible top a couple of times and put her back in the garage. Drives nicer than either of the SRT6's, but no where near the grin factor of acceleration....grrrr....Peace

Just ordered a 4 pack of the Mann filters ( https://www.newparts.com/product/hu-...ann-0001802609 ), with the free shipping and a $5.00 off coupon code, they were less than $7.75 each with shipping and tax!

Here's another good price for the MANN Filter (https://www.pelicanparts.com/More_In...80-26-09-M2063)

Using the 4 filters as an example, taking the 'new buyer incentive 10% off', adding the lowest price shipping (then adding tax(?), but I didn't go that far because it was way over the link I gave), makes them much higher per filter.

Today, on a different forum post, I see the ones I bought ( Mann-Filter HU 718/5 X ) aren't 'fleece' but are polyester elements, and quality filters! Are these the ones we should buy? Not a time to be asking, huh??? LOL

Yes, the MANN HU 718/5 X is the so called "fleece" filter element. It is made with polyester and considered a "fleece-type" design vs. the paper-type element. I've got 4 of them sitting in my garage cabinet. If you look at the application text on the PelicanParts link, you'll see this filter is for synthetic oil & extended mileage change intervals. That dictates it to be a "fleece-type" filter element per M-B. I believe the "fleece-type" filter element was always recommended for SRT-6 engine. The NA engine originally had a recommendation to use the paper-type element. But in the newer M-B engines, using 229.5 oils & extended oil change intervals, the "fleece-type" element was recommended. Others can chime in if I'm off base.

I think I misled everyone by the second part of my post. I was just referring to the prices of the ones I got for $7.75 each (total $30.97 for a 4 filter package, delivered, with tax and shipping included), as being less expensive then the link you posted. Sometimes, I post confusing information. I hope I corrected that here! Your information on the poly/fleece is spot on! Cheers everyone!

Washed the 2007 Coupe Friday but had to cover up the car on Saturday due to storm surges that came thru our area Saturday evening. EF2 tornado touched down Saturday evening in northern part of Greenville County. Anyway, today was a beautiful day, so I uncovered the car and the wife & I took it for a spin. Spent maybe 30 minutes or so and enjoyed every minute of it. Supposed to be really nice the next coupe of days. Probably will be taking a couple more excursions in & around Greenville County.
