Well I replaced my CAM Position Sensor this past fall with one from Autozone (Made in China, $120) and I had similar problems as other members had posted in this thread, with the car not starting on the first try. I put the car away for hibernation soon after that but with a very early spring here I decided to order the Bosch part and not deal with any further frustration.

I was about to order it from this posted link, but at the last second I decided to do a google search and found it for a little cheaper:

Genuine Bosch Cam Position Sensor 0232103037 Mercedes | eBay

~$65 shipped, so I saved about $20 from the original link. Seller seems legit, great rating and claims to be an authorized Bosch distributor. I will post an update when I get it installed maybe this weekend.

I just wish I had seen this thread before I bought it locally the first time around

So today I installed it.
It started up first time no problem.
It started second and third time also.
I decided I will keep it in and put the original in the trunk.
An hour later I go to use the car and it won't start - cranks and backfires out the exhaust. Changed back to OEM and fine again.
The seller offered me a refund so that is what is next. Now to find another.
Anyone that purchased one of these from the link, may want to try yours.

In preparation for my 2300 mile round trip to CAA5 I am gathering up my new spare parts for the road trip
I just searched for this old thread and realized I got my Camshaft sensor from the same place as James1549 but never noticed the feedback that the part was actually NO GOOD twice

I still have the NEW one but it was purchased September 25th 2011
Doubtful I can send it back now for a refund and purchase the Bosch brand for a spare.

I already replaced the Crankshaft sensor with the Bosch brand (July 2011) and have another new Bosch as a spare so no concerns there

Got my spare Bosch Crankshaft sensor in the house and Bosch Camshaft sensor on order in preparation for our CAA5 journey. Hopefully they won't be needed.

This Cedar11 promised to report back and has not done so in two years, so we can expect more of the same with the help he received this past May. Click
He never actually said what camshaft sensor offer he took, so we got no help from him there either. We are left looking through 150 listings to find which one is best.

I for one will not bother to answer him/her the next time he/she asks for help.
