Help Resetting Service Timer
My wife's roadster we just picked up last night showed 40k since last service reset.. got it reset today as they had just done oil change at the Ford dealer where we bought her. Took four tries to get it. Was starting to wonder if I had memory fade from changing mine only 3 weeks back.. LOL.
You started this thread a few years ago.
Double wrench and single wrench service indicator are the same process. Took me many many many times. Try to drink a beer first.

I find that when you hit the button "Twice in one second" that the speed you double press it is the problem. I think many of us push it twice, and we either hit it TOO fast, or we don't let the button come back up fully before pressing it again.
It usually takes me 2 or 3 times, every time, and I've done no less than 11 oil changes between the Graphite and Red cars.

This certainly is the right procedure:
RESETTING THE FSS MAINTENANCE INDICATOR AFTER AN OIL CHANGE
1 Move the ignition switch to the “RUN” position
2 Within 4 seconds of moving the ignition switch into the
“RUN” position, press the reset button for the trip odometer
twice within one second The display for the FSS service
request is activated for 10 seconds
3 During the 10 seconds the FSS service request is displayed,
move the ignition switch to the “OFF” position
The FSS service request will continue to be displayed
4 Press the reset button for the trip odometer and
hold
5 Move the ignition switch to the “RUN” position
6 Continue to press and hold the reset button for the trip
odometer (about 10 seconds) until the audible signal
sounds and the new start distance appears in the display
The tool symbol should disappear at this time

I nailed it the first time on mine... and to be honest was a little concerned when I did the roadster.. "oh boy" was the thoughts after #3 try.. That's the one thing about buying a "used" car... finding the little stuff.. LOL. I had popped the hood at the lot.. looking things over.. no Varta.. minor leak at the valve cover breathers.. hmm.. the fuse cover is not locked down.. fix that right quick..
Then today.. hey wait a minute.. there's no nut on the battery hold down.. Bracket was there .. upside down.. and no nut. But we did get all the "flat tire" accessories !
