Crossfire Modifications
Got in this one a little late. Mark you are right about Howards old car, Jeff's new car. It is modded to the hilt and very fast. Modding is all about making your car the best it can be for the type of driving you love to do. It can easily become an addiction but boy is it fun.
Howard and I have been running together at the Dragon gtg's and days when just 2 or 3 of us have met up just for the day for 4 or 5 years now. Still can't believe Howard sold his car. Glad it went to Jeff as he is a crossfire friend as well.
I have followed that car, led that car and driven it. Howard has been a part of every epic run I have been involved in at the gtg's except for the one when Nick and I broke loose from the pack and ran the Skyway pretty much WOT the whole way (burned 1/2 tank on that short run). Howard will tell you my car is faster but I am not so sure it is. I will tell you Howard is the better driver. I can absolutly tell you my car will stop quicker but that is another story.
The bottom line is that both cars are more fun to drive on those mouintain roads than most can imagine because of the mods. Now that you have had just a taste of what a modded SRT is capable of how long will it be before you either buy one ready to go like Jeff did or find a graphite coupe and mod it to your taste. You know you want to...... so get started.

Yes Wranglers get terrible gas mileage. Are three reasons
- 4000+lbs
- cdA of a barn door: 70" high and 73" wide
- 3.7 rear gear
put same in a slippery body 20" lower with a 2.25 final and 1,000 lbs lighter and would be a little different.
OTOH I get 24 mpg on the Interstate at left lane speeds with my 4400 lb '12 WK2. However it only comes with an automagic. (8 speed and 25 mpg for '14).

Man. I think I have landed in "Ricky Racer Land" (lol)! As an engineer (my lifelong profession) I can appreciate the effort to build a fast car and all of the ingenuity and effort that it takes to do it. You are some talented folks!
But is there room for folks like me that do not want to "Mod" their car at all? I like it like it is and would like to keep it stock for a sense of preservation of what the car was when it was brand new....it really is in "cherry" shape and I love to own and drive "all original" cars. Even my Corvette and Mustang have been kept factory original (both very low mileage cars) even though they would be relatively easy to turn them into real rockets! Maybe there should be a section on this forum for old, "originalists" like me?

When I bought my virginal SRT6 three years ago with 6900 miles on it I was sure that I'd keep it in its original state forever. About a year later I started to give in and perform a few mods. Each one has made vast improvements to the look, feel and performance of these fine machines. However, all are reversible but I have no plans on moving backwards at this point. Love the car the way it is.... OR.....the way it can be. The choice is yours.

So far all of my mods (other than the SilverStars) have been electronic. Radio and horde of allied Bluetooth devices. Slowly bringing into Modern Times.
One limitation of the Crossfire is the somewhat last century dashboard, may just replace all the dash gauges with a small display. Since all of the warning lights except TC are on the side pods I can just place a LCD over all three dials.
Looks like a 7" Lilliput may fit very nicely. Then replacing the speedo dash lights would not be as needful.

So, where do I go to buy a Bosch Crank Position Sensor to keep in the trunk? Are they expensive? Also, can a "spare/used" RCM be bought that could have the soldering upgrade done to it and then used when needed? I cannot seem to find these parts online. And I assume that there is a "how to" article for the sticky key issue?

Crank Shaft Position Sensor Fix and where to get it.
Relay control module fix.
The RCM you have can be soldered really easy, get one when you can if you feel you really must later.
