Default Plans for 2014

Good morning everyone! Hope today finds you blessed.

Been a while since I've posted, and just wanted to see what everyone is planning for the new year?

With the engine basically where I want it, I'm going to focus mainly on the suspension and aesthetics this year.

I'm very excited to see what Ground Control has to offer... I've honestly been holding off on the standard Eibach/Koni setup for that reason.

In addition to that, I'm planning on the VIS hood (I'm thinking this will be a knockout design). Will likely have to do a full re-spray on the front bumper as well, to make it all look fresh (bugs are like bullets at 150... who knew?)

I've posted two photos of the car as it sits... the suspension and hood are going to be some NICE additions.

Anyways, what's in store for you guys & girls?

Cheers,

Nice! Just so happens that my baby is getting a SCAI installed today including before/after dyno runs. The car also just had a complete derashing, scratching, scuffing and undenting party. Next is scissor doors if after careful due diligence we find a real high quality option exists.

Very nice gameplan John!

My plan is pretty much the exact same lol. I may not run with suspension but it depends on how much and what you get for the ground control stuff.

First thing first- aesthetics. Engine, Interior and Exterior.
The engine will be easy since all I really need to do is cut the front engine cover so that it sits properly, and pretty up the top of the coolant reservoir from JB welding the nipple back on. The intake tubes and K&N's will be as soon as I can get them, next month most likely.

Interior - Partly my fault, partly the previous owner. I need to deep clean the carpets to remove minor stains. Peel off the white plasti-dip I layed over the silver trim (looks like crap matte white). Finish the steering wheel emblem delete. Recolor guages white. Figure out what I'm going to do with fading in some areas.

Exterior - I can play it off in pictures like it looks good, but it needs minor scratches (over all of it) buffed out. Grille re-painted. Rims finished. Carbon fiber wrap re-done. Front emblem re-done. Strakes re-done.

All of that is projected to be done in the next few months lol.

Then it's wavetrac installed at Unitrax. And finally the Spec Clutch stage 3.

That's 5.0 Albino for 2014 lol.

JHM2K - You need a see-through hood with a power plant that looks like that!

Makes me want to do one of two things:
1. Never open my hood again
2. Go pick up a bucket of Elbow Grease and a couple of boxes of Want To and get to work on mine

Very nice!!

After looking at your engine bay, I don't even want to open mine. Dirty daily driver and no grage. And I am a lazy SOB.

I too am anxious to see what the Ground Control guys have coming. Suspension mods are about all I am thinking of doing to my NA. The rest is as far as I am going on the NA except for SRT Wheels.

Good to see your posts John.

What I have cooking is similar. VIS hood is on the list and I too will respray the bumper. Ground Control suspension parts or full race setup depending on what's available and cost. My AIM Solo Lap Timer just arrived and I hope the learning curve with Race RenderII is fast. Overlays on the horizon! I need to splice into the TPS and VSS wires for the Zietronix. A deep transmission pan is a possibility. I'd like to hook up the meth injection once more and get it working correctly. Before adding more power I need to work on consistency on the track. So a few driving schools are planned. More is sure to come as the year goes bye.

I got most of my aesthetics done already.

So this year im going to work more on performance. I already have a NW CAI, and 40series flowmaster muffler. My 74mm TB just arrived about 1hr ago...so its a good start already. HOPEFULLY ill be able to come up with the extra cash sometime this year to buy either a Sprint Booster or get a Eurotune.

Then a good cleaning under the hood, and a few minor stains inside taken out, and lastly a good buffing.

Sounds great brother! I need to get some PDR work done on my doors... we've moved to a new facility at work, and the spaces are a bit tighter. NO ONE is careful these days

Awesome stuff Josh! The Wavetrac will probably be a "surprise" mod for me... it's not planned, but all it takes is one misstep of the OEM differential. I'm definitely making adequate power now LOL

Thank you sir! Mine is a daily driver, but I try to give the engine a douse with Simple Green roughly once a month. Keeps it fairly tidy

Franc, as fast as you already are, a proper suspension on that roadster with a stick will make you very dangerous in the corners.

Looking forward to seeing your times with the GC system, Les... I'm already amazed at your capabilities and I have a sneaking suspicion you're not 100% stocked with your setup as-is. So, with some additional hardware, you're going to be tough to catch

Not a lot on my list mostly cosmetic, PDR is the main thing. One on each door, one on the hood and two on the trunk lid. Considering having it professionally buffed out, it looks pretty good for black but I think it can look better. One thing I never got around to last year was getting her up on my ramps and taking a good look underneath. I bought a tinted Windblox wind restrictor last year that I am thinking of going a bit darker. Mechanically I'm good except last Sunday I noticed a slight squeak from the front brakes so it may be time for some ceramic pads. All of these plans are doable if I can take time from driving and enjoying it long enough to have them done.

Hmm, that list is actually longer than I thought.

Looks good but one suggestion, with the CAI on there you could lose the oil filler extension, it makes a little neater look. I am looking to add a bit of color to my engine bay, a darker and brighter blue to the valve covers and SC, Viper blue to be exact. Engines done, there's nothing more I can do but maybe some tuneable shocks this year, on longer trips the old bones would like a softer ride.

Hey guys just wanted to point out that Windblox isn't a WindRestrictor. Its a wind blocker. Hate to nitpick but we've had problems before (not with forum members, with companies using the name). Thanks

Well after the accident I am just hoping to find a new baby this year. I have my twisted mess in the back yard under a cover waiting to be used for parts.

After taxes are done I will be on the hunt for a good deal. Hopefully an SRT if the money works out. If not either another black limited or maybe an alabaster. Then to transfer all the mods over and be back in business. Hopefully work on some Appearance mods after that if everything pans out and I have some time.
