Default Surprising Little Car

I just bought an 04 Coupe 6 speed and been driving it for about two weeks now. Snow finally melted away so I could take her out for a really spirited ride. I just back from a test ride after replacing the Steering Damper, a little loose before the change with some clicking in the steering but that is pretty much gone. Steering feels nice and tight now. Even though I fell in love with the car at first sight, after really playing with it hard, I can see there is also function to it's pretty form. I've had hot cars ever since I could drive that were faster with more power, but there's just something about the way this car pulls all the way up to red line. I had a 2010, 4.6 3V Mustang I built up with headers tune and intake and it seemed to run out of steam about 500 rpm shy of red line. I'm surprised at how hard this car pulls all the way to redline, almost like it has about 500 more rpm it could go? This car is just so much more fun to drive, especially through the twisties. I almost think it may have had a tune before I bought it because it pulls so hard in every gear. Anyway, just spreading the love and appreciation for the great info I get from this forum, I'm glad I found this car and this forum! Only 31,721 miles when I bought it and bone stock, so far as I can tell. Got lots of miles left and time to play; being retired. Yeah , I know it's tough, but somebody has to do it

Congrats on your purchase. Yes, I agree, this car is suprising, even stock. Form is wonderful and the performance and handling adds to the enjoyment. I had mine tuned by Eurocharge. I too felt even before the tune it was more than adequate. I have to say that the tune did make a noticiable difference though. Response was better, shifts sharper, felt even a little quicker as well. The claimed extra 24 hp was worth the $300.00 investment (best bang for the buck mod you will find for these cars is the tune. Lot's of other things you can do as well but I'm sticking with stock with my tune mod for now.

Weather sucks here in DC and they've salted the heck out of the roads. Mine won't see the road for at least a few weeks. I wanted to get her out for a quick drive with my local club a week ago but it snowed again. Kept her buttoned up in the garage on the battery tender .... likely where she stay until things get clean up alittle. Had to use my daily dirver the last few months. Then again, that's not bad because I love my G8 too.

Enjoy the car. It definitely puts a smile on my face when I drive it.

Hey thanks, PNA! I see that you that you have the same color car I do. I guess great minds think alike... I've lurked on this forum a while and it seams the guys with white Crossfires think they have the fastest color, Not so sure about that, I think Sapphire Silver Blue Metallic just may give them a run for the money. My wife doesn't call this car Silver Streak for nut'n...LOL It's definitely a blast to drive and puts a big boyish grin on my face when I drop the hammer and wheel around corners. It may not an SRT6 but it's enough to get me in trouble. SRT6's are monsters, I looked into getting one of those at first and almost went for one; but my biggest draw back was, it just had to be a stick. It's what I grew up with and there' just nothing like rowing through the gears working the clutch to me. Different strokes for different folks. So you're up in DC, I grew up in Baltimore, Essex area and then in White Marsh before I left for the service. I used to drive a 1966 Falcon Sport Coupe back then on the back roads though farm country, many great memories during that time I lived there. Best to you and enjoy, when the weather lifts, looks like we're in for some snow down here in Williamsburg, VA again.

Well that is a big fat lie. Areo blue is the fastest color.

Which is why I got my wife one with a Supercharger in it.

I'm just kicking back in my chair taking all of this in laughing my buzzinta off. I knew the color fast wars would start breaking out of the woodwork. Oh well just call me "the spoon", it's fun to stir up a little friendly competition. I don't care what the rest of you guys think, I know Sapphire Silver Blue Metallic is the fastest color. Heck I knew that way back when I designed this car before the Germans stole my idea, sheeesh you guys should know that, give me a break....LMAO

Ahhh.. but did you know Karl.. the night shift janitor.. who switched out the injectors at night???

Some say he was hard core German.. Old School.. "White supremacy " advocate !

Thus the reason Alabaster is faster!

Its getting really deep in here. I thought the snow outside was deep. I won't mention that black will take you back and aero blue is fast and smooth.

Actually, Carl with a "C", you misspelled his name, he changed it from a K to a C to remain covert when he found out the bigger injectors in a white car was all a big lie. I trained Carl, myself to plant erroneous information around the factory about the white cars, so that when you get passed by the "Silver Streak", you'll know that Sapphire Blue Metallic Silver Crossfires have the biggest injectors. Sorry man, that's just the way it is...

Good point The snow is getting pretty deep here to, looks like there calling for 5 -7 inches around here. I think North Carolina is going to get the brunt of this along the coast.
