Default engine serial #

Quick question. Where is the engine serial # stamped? Looked up search and got lots of info but not location, thanks

It is found on the passenger side rear of the cylinder block. It is on a curved cast surface that is a radius swung from the engine crankshaft center line about an inch and a half 0utside the transmission mounting bolt circle. You read it looking straight down, left to right from the back. It is not stamped, it is etched and not easy to read. It must be clean and in good light to read it. Please let me know if you can read yours.
