Default Broken hood strut still useable

Came across a idea I have not seen here . When raising my hood with bad support I extended the upper part of the strut to hold hood open. Worked great just about the same height. Has this been thought of before ?

So the way it works: raise hood, extend support extension and lower the hood back down to rest the extension on the hood support.

Yes, this has been done before, but a new strut is worth the $$$ so you can stand the hood at full attention

Had the same problem...just installed a new strut recently at a very nominal cost...around 50.00 (I think...CRS)..it is worth the money to get a full hood erection!!! Carl

Actually, wvwonder, the quick fix for the ED "strut" would be to throw in a couple of Vigra pills !!! Now that's a quick fix!!...Carl

I use a pole. Only open the hood three or four times a year. Too lazy to replace the strut.

Just replaced mine bought another Crossfire and the Hood Damper was leaking so I replaced ti for About $73.00 and it only took about 5 minutes. Well worth it, as I clean under the hood regularly.
