Default I give up!

I know there are instructions somewhere on how to open the hood too vertical position. I know I did it years ago but senility has set in and I don't remember how. I want to change my battery and it would be much easier with the hood vertical. I couldn't find it in the owners manual or the shop manual.

Thanks,
Doug

Open the hood to the normal position. Find the "Button" on the telescoping rod, push the button in and open the hood to the vertical position.

WHen opening, use the button at the very top, I think to the rear, of the plastic oversleeve. When lowering, you will release from the bottom of the outer sleeve. You have to lift the hood to remove pressure on the strut both times.
