Default Right Drive UK Cars

This never occurred to me until I saw this photo of a right hand drive Xfire and noticed that the windshield wipers also start their sweep from left to right - backwards of the left drive cars.
(Just another "Well, daggum!" moment for me.)

I wonder if the grommet lines up better on those.

The factory omitted the rubber grommet around the wiper post on the driver's side of all US/Canadian cars.
pioneer4x4 was just wondering if the same applies to RHD cars, do BOTH wiper posts have rubber grommets ?

Exactly, I just found out about that odd "feature" and noticed my 2004 doesn't have one on the driver's side (LHD) and the hole is off-center of the wiper stem.

We;;, I just grabbed a torch and went outside for a check. The RHD have the grommet on the passenger side ( your drivers) and nothing on my side. So we all only get one lol. And the drivers side here is off centre. at least they were consistent.

Seems they just did a mirror image of the original incorrect CAD drawing before submitting the request to the 3rd party supplier .......

Conversation probably went something like this ( translated from German ) :
"Hey boss, just got those cowl pieces in from Acme, there's a slight problem."
BOSS: "WHAT !"
"Seems one of the holes is incorrectly located"
BOSS: "HOW COULD THAT BE ? SEND 'EM BACK AND HAVE IT CORRECTED."
"OK boss, will do !"
time passes ...
"Hey boss, Acme says they match the supplied specs, if we want a change we will have to pony up the $$$$ for the revision and it will take 6 more weeks."
BOSS: "WHAT ? WE CANNOT STOP PRODUCTION FOR THAT TINY LITTLE IMPERFECTION, USE THEM AS-IS WITHOUT THE GROMMET, NO ONE WILL EVER NOTICE"
"FIND OUT WHO DID THAT SPEC AND FIRE HIM !"
"WAIT, WE CAN REALIZE A COST SAVINGS BY PURCHASING 73,000 FEWER GROMMETS !"
"FIND OUT WHO DID THE DRAWING AND GIVE HIM A RAISE AND AN AWARD"

"OK, you the BOSS !"

All this begs the question - where does the water go with no grommet?

I could have added something less PC, " ........he vill be shot".
But I'm not like that.
