Default Water In Needswings Intake

Has anyone experienced getting water into the engine using a eedswings intake with K & N filter behind the grill? Would a shield in front of the filter be advisable to deflect the water?

Thanks

I always purchase slip over prefilter's from NeedsWings for added assurance that I'll never chance water being sucked in. Squirrel Crusher

I've never had a problem even in tropical storms. For that matter, for a while I was spraying water/meth. First before the supercharger and later in the Y pipe. As long as you keep the filters clean and oiled you shouldn't have a problem. Is your car NA or SRT? The supercharger loves the cooling effects of water .... as long as it's just a mist.

Ive nvr had a problem sucking running in through my NW DCAI either (srt6). I just dont see how it would be possible as it has to travel up a long inclined distance to get to the TB in the back of the motor and the only way I could see it happening if you had the throttle wide open in a down pour, but im not sure if that would generate enough vacuum to suck the water all the way up.
