I, also, prefer non-cloth seats as they collect dust. Not sure why they would be more comfortable. I also did not realize that different models used different style seats. Time to research...

I believe there are a little softer and have a different shape and contour.

Totally different shape and contour. You sit "in" them not "on" them (As Molly of Molly and John "boilerupxfire") once told me.
I did not understand what she meant until I sat in a base coupe.

Next time you are at a meet, try sitting in:
  • A Limited (perhaps your own since most own limiteds)
  • An SRT
  • A Base/SE
Also, you may observe, if you are 'tall from the waist up', that the base seats sit lower (they have no motor/drive units under them) and that his will make some of us more comfortable as well.

Mine does have the electric seats and is a Limited. I thought that part of my problem is that because one sits so low that there are less options for leg placement. I use my '96 Dodge Ram for road trips...but only 17mpg.
The Acantara suede seats in the SRT do look nice. Found a reskinned blue/black pair on Ebay for $4000 plus $350 shipping.

The SRT seats are uncomfortable for me, I cannot remember for sure if my Limited was more comfortable but I think so. I do not think the comfortable SE/Base seats would offset the convenience of the options available on the higher end cars.P

I have 2 SRTs and a limited. I get uncomfortable sooner in the SRTs than the Limited.

Dave,
I started this thread back in 2018. Most folks seem to get a SEAT cushion that corrects the problem.
For me though, its in my back. The seat back digs into my spine. I am still trying to fine a BACK cushion
that fits in the car. Most I find are too wide and are difficult to hold in place. I did get one in Wal*Mart but
I have to hold it in place with a bungee cord. Looks kind of tacky but so far all I can find
