Just bought another project SRT6.
Hey guys, it's been a while. Just stopping by with another project Crossfire I'm restoring. This one has a clear title and 72k miles. Previous owner really screwed it up with black spray-paint. Nothing I can't reverse with time and money. Fortunately its mechanically sound and runs great. Of course it had a swimming pool in the hatch to boot.

Thanks
No problem, labor of love for me. I really enjoy the work and gives me something to do in the evenings.
No flood damage, just a few years of dirt under the hood. Car has clean title and no history of being rebuilt according to the carfax. Also, no evidence of water or staining in the floorboards, which is more telling than carfax.

Welcome back Anthony! Haven't had any problems with the SRT I bought from you last Sept. after I did the Skreem (that was such a weird deal). You were about to start on a Mercedes last year. Did you get it done?

Yes, and it keeps me out of trouble.
Definitely, and Thanks
Better stop by soon if you want to see it in all it's ugly. It's going to ready for the runway in the next two week. I'm pretty sure it's still in my phone. Wait, are you possibly interested in this ugly duckling?
Hey, glad it's running well. It was a little neglected too, but still very sound mechanically. The MB has the supercharger isntalled, but the intercooler has a leak. I'm supposed to send it to Reentech soon for repair. A new intercooler is close to 2k, yikes!
Definitely, and Thanks

Yeap, I bought the wheels from Bob and a central locking pump from him also. Next weekend I'll be tearing out the rear panels and swapping the pump. You're more than welcome to visit. By the way, I almost drove down to Knoxville today for a BMW, but the seller didn't get back to me in time.

I've spent around 25 hours so far on the XF to accomplish the following:
- The plasti dip has been removed from the blinkers, strakes, blinkers, front and rear emblems, and windshield trim. What a pain in the ***!
- Stripped the red paint from the plenums.
- Removed the DIY CAI and installed an OEM setup.
- Removed the hatch window tint that was bubbling.
- Changed the engine oil and filter.
- Changed the supercharger fluid.
- Removed the seats and thoroughly cleaned the interior with a carpet cleaner.
- Cleaned the floor mats.
- Removed the spoiler for cleaning and resealing of the hatch.
Here's a few before / after pics of the progress:
I found the best way to remove stubborn plasti dip was WD40. I tried GooBeGone but it was worthless.

Here's the DIY intake and painted plenums. The paint is chipping and cracking horribly on the plenums, and the intake is just and eye sore.

I spent several hours reversing all that back to OEM;

Removed the rear spoiler and should have it reinstalled and rear window tinted tomorrow.

Supercharger fluid is fresh again:

I remember seeing this SRT6, the previous owner painted the spokes "gold", but can't remember the former forum member. What's the VIN# on this latest project. The rehab is progressing well.
Good Luck,

I think this is the third SRT6 I've owned in SSB.
Well, I finished tinting the rear window on Sunday. After that I removed the spoiler and mounting plate, cleaned them, and reattached with Permatex RTV silicone gasket maker stuff. This worked well for me in the past. I'm sure I could have done a better job cleaning up the mounting surface on the spoiler, but didn't. I'm having a local guy install the headliner this evening, and I got the central locking pump in the mail today from Bob (RedDog). Oh yea, the new A-pillars and wiper blades came in today too. Should look a lot better once the headliner and a-pillars are in order, and it will be nice to have keyless entry after the pump is swapped.

What do you guys think of the black trim? Should I replace it with OEM silver or leave it to the new owner? Keep in mind, to do it right means $400-$600 in unpainted parts from ebay, so I'd rather not mess with it unless its a complete show stopper.

Looks kinda like a flood car to me.
