Yep, getting the dreaded and feared no crank, but battery good and all lights and locks work fine. Soooo, looking at the Pulse Module first as the culprit, but I have not yet looked at the RCM. Does anyone have any info on where to buy a new Pulse Mod? Also, I cannot seem to even find the darn thing. I did some searches but come up empty. Maybe it has a different name? I dunno. Thanx.
Oh, wow, junk yards. No wonder all my searches come up empty. LOL. That is so not good. I think I will pull the RCM and do some resoldering on that start relay first. When this last happened I did not leave the key on long enough to see if the fan comes on in hyperdrive first. My bad. That is supposed to point to the RCM relay.
Would not this pulse module also carry a MB part number which should be available or is this part special toward the Crossfire and not used by MB? Anyone?
The pulse module is not unique to the Crossfire - it's so generic, that Base, Limited and SRT all have the same part. There are two relays: Starter and I/C pump; of course, the I/C pump relay is not used in non-SRTs, but the relay IS there.
I doubt the pulse module is your problem. Turn key to "on", if the fan warps up, then the Engine Control Relay output from the RCM is bad, period.
Thanx Pizzaguy, long time no speak. Hope you are well. I pulled the RCM and resoldered all of the joints and put it back together. So far so good. This issue did NOT cause Rosie not to start all the time. Only when it felt like it and this morning it did not feel like it. The solder joints to the relays all looked crappy, darkish color like some overheating. The three for the start relay looked the worse by far. More current draw on those I would say.

Reflowing the solder on the board is something many of us can do - but replacing the relays can be a pain. Remember you can always send it to DJ, he will replace any relays that are questionable for not much money. (Relays cost around $4 each, it's the unsoldering of the old ones that is the hard part).

Thanx. The relays looked great. No carbon or signs of overheating or the contacts arcing so we shall see. Took Rosie out for a drive and shut her off a few times and she started with no issues. Time will tell. We will be back out this weekend.
