I’ve acquired a CarPlay-equipped Pioneer unit with touch screen and want to make the double DIN leap but don’t want the hassle of commissioning a local custom job.
Do any forum members actively sell one?
Has anyone explored the aftermarket options for the SLK that shares our centre console?

I know of two forum members who’ve built their own. One of those forum members had so much fun, he built two versions for the switch assembly.

Lots of info on the forum, you just have to dig. Type it into the search bar. You’ll get a few hits.

How did it go with the rocker panels. Did you purchase a set?

 

I had intended to paint them both this summer but I am building some front porch steps and railings for my son and his wife. Like everything these days it takes me more time than I anticipated. I am painting them now instead of my double DIN bezels.🙄
The parts have then to be assembled on-site, hopefully, the measurements are correct.

 

I've never seen a blind car owner that works on his or her car! Fantastic, oh what technology can do nowadays! LOL

I'll have to read my posts before I send them, it is me spelling wrong or my iPad is ruling my life, what will happen when there are robots doing simple jobs for us. Maybe they will turn into HALs, "I will not let you do that Dave" and it shuts down your Crossfire for good and it will not be the SKREEM this time.

 

Dave, I turned off the Autofil function on my iPad.

 

I should do that and see what it is like. Trouble is I’ll have no excuse for bad spelling as on the first scan through my posts I miss errors and only see them when it is posted, that’s if I bother to read them at all.🙄
