Reprogram key fob
New owner here - if I can locate a "used" 2005 Chrysler Crossfire key fob with the chip, can it be reprogrammed for my 2005 Crossfire? (It has same identification numbers on the fob that my current one has.) I only got one key with the car and am searching for a second. I have ordered one from dealer, but on backorder.

And I am living proof of that. I bought a used key, took it to the dealership, two hours later after they tried everything they knew, they came back and told me it can't be done. At least they didn't charge me for the whole two hours of labor..

Oh my goodness I had no idea what I was getting into trying to get new keys for my SRT6. I have one functional key / remote obviously with a good "chip" / "transponder" / "RFID"
The chip has apparently been epoxy'd to the case. Currently it's a mess. I have a new case with cut brass.
So if I'm understanding this correctly, I have to remove a couple of components from the car, send them to "needswings" and he can send me two working remote/chip/brass keys, and a valet key?

Or unglue the chip in the key you have now... Gasoline will melt almost anything and the RFID chip appears to be immune to chemicals, but not heat.

Make sure you send it overnight with tracking and insured.
